Thanks to
you, 3,900 education jobs saved!
We did it! Thanks in
large part to NJEA and its members, Congress passed the education
jobs act, which will bring 3,900 of our laid-off colleagues back to
work.
Please review the simple flyer attached below, explaining
it
all, and share it with your colleagues, just to be sure every NJEA
member sees it. As it explains, NJEA members generated more than
one-fifth of all emails to Congress from NEA affiliates in support of
the legislation. And please take a few minutes to call your Members of
Congress to thank them for their support.
This is a major win for NJEA and its members, and it all happened as a
result of YOUR willingness to take ACTION!
Now, we are turning our attention on our own legislation, S1940, which
would require any savings from concessions made by NJEA local
associations to be used to bring back laid-off staff.
There is nothing we cannot achieve if we set our minds to it.
Stay tuned for more information about how NJEA intends to take back our
schools and our communities.
Please make sure to send information regarding your committee, meetings/events and photos to the webmistress. ________________________________________________________________
